Margaret [Madge] Sneddon
On the first day I set up this tribute website to The Hi-Fi Combo, I made mention of a lady named 'Madge'. Who is Madge? Madge Sneddon was not a member of the band, however Madge was a major influence not only on the band, and the part her brothers Dick and Andy played in it, and she was also another part of my musical education . . . and in recent times . . my friend, so has been a part of my life since 1965. Some of the lovely photographs on this site - including the beautiful lady above, were provided by Madge. Oh, by the way . . . that photo is Madge.

I already mentioned 10 years ago on one of these pages how she would be at the family home whenever I arrived for a practice session. I already mentioned how her choice of Classical music impressed me - I mean how could I have ever known about Paganini and his Variations . . . and how she was a very forceful presence in the lives of her 'wee' brothers.

Since we re-connected and spoke a little, starting 7 years ago, through this page I have come to realize that she is one hell of a personality in her own right and I know she also encouraged and worked tirelessly on Dick's behalf to get out the message of his talent as an artiste. I have had his artist link on the website for some years. Do visit.

Visitors to the site will also notice a new photograph of the original The Hi-Fi Combo Showband dressed in their white finery and posing in unison on the dance floor. Thank you Madge for their photograph . . . and for yours . . . above.
