242 RADIO SCOTLAND'S 'SHOWBEAT' MONTHLY

Radio Scotland 242 produced its own monthly magazine called 242 'Showbeat' at one shilling [5p] a copy. The magazine showcased the many Scottish groups on the scene including The Hi-Fi Combo [my pic above was taken from one of the 242 mags and was headlined "Grapevine Scotland"] and was well produced. I still have my copies of the magazine. The story, by our manager, of how we were hated by the Glasgow bands [because we were from Ayrshire] was, of course, utter nonsense.
